- 1
Point it at your folders
Choose a folder or drop files in. Duct reads 99 file types, including scanned PDFs and photos of documents.
- 2
Search like you think
Type a few words. Duct matches word forms, phrases, file names, and amounts however they were written.
- 3
Check the source
Every result names the file and page. One click opens the document there, with your words highlighted.
Every answer comes with its page
Search tools that summarise ask you to trust them. Duct shows its work: the file, the page, the passage, highlighted. Copy it with its source, collect passages across searches, and export them to Word or a spreadsheet.
- Page, slide, sheet or chapter on every result
- Opens PDFs at the page with matches highlighted
- Copy a passage with its source, or a citation
- Export an evidence list for an audit, brief or bid
Our quality assurance methodology follows ISO 9001 with weekly site audits…

Works offline
Search, OCR and the viewer need no internet: on a plane, in the field, or on a network with no outside connection.

Questions
Do my documents leave my computer?
No. Duct reads and indexes them on your computer (or your own server), and search runs there too. AI features only send the passages needed for an answer, to the provider you choose, and only when you ask.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything on your own computer works without one: every file type, OCR, search, the viewer and watched folders. An account is only for paid features such as AI without your own API key.
What does “search you can verify” mean?
Every result names the file and the page, slide or sheet it came from, and opens the document there with your words highlighted. You never have to trust a summary you can’t check.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Search, OCR and the viewer work with no internet. Paid features keep working offline for 30 days at a time.
What can it read?
PDF (including scans), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, Apple Pages, Numbers and Keynote, RTF, EPUB, email with attachments, Markdown, HTML, text, source code, images and ZIP archives: 99 file types.
Who makes Duct?
