The problem

Evidence is spread across invoices, bank statements, spreadsheets, scanned receipts and emailed approvals. At audit or tax time, staff hunt for the one document that supports a transaction, often in files clients send in every format.

What Duct does

  • Finds an amount however it was written: 1250000, 1,250,000, 1 250 000 and 1,250,000.00 all match.
  • Reads spreadsheets sheet by sheet (old .xls included), scanned receipts and statements with OCR, and emails with attachments.
  • Exports an evidence list (file, page, passage) as a spreadsheet or Word document for the audit file.
  • Keeps client financial data on the firm’s own machines.

How it works for finance and audit

  1. 1

    Add a client’s folder

Statements, invoices, receipts and the spreadsheets clients send, in whatever format they arrive.

  2. 2

Search an amount, a supplier or an invoice number

Amounts match however they were written: with commas, spaces, decimals or none.

  3. 3

    Build the evidence list

Collect the documents that support a figure and export file, page and passage for the audit file.

Made for this work

The parts of Duct you’ll use most.

Amounts, however they were written

Search 1250000 and find 1,250,000.00 in an invoice, 1 250 000 in a bank statement and 1.250.000 in a supplier’s quote.

Spreadsheets, sheet by sheet

Excel (including old .xls and .xlsb), OpenDocument and Numbers files are read sheet by sheet, and results say which sheet the match is on.

An evidence list in one click

Export results as a spreadsheet of document, page and passage, safe to open in Excel, or as a Word document for the working papers.

Invoices due and contracts renewing

The deadlines radar shows due dates that passed and renewals coming up, from the documents themselves. Duct says “due date passed”, never “overdue”: it can’t know what was paid.

Reads the files you already have

No converting, no uploading. Duct reads 99 file types where they are.

Search you can verify

Every result names the file and the page it came from, and opens the document there with your words highlighted. Your documents stay on your computer or your own server.
